I received the flyer today. For several months there has been construction on Del Mar Blvd, causing traffic delays and disruptions to business on Lake Avenue and Shopper's Lane.
How will business owners, employees, and clients venture into the Shops and Restaurants on Shoppers Lane when traffic detours and all this construction has become the norm? Where are the flyers about accommodations so that deliveries can occur? Lake Avenue is crowded and there are no traffic plans to help reduce disruptions and accommodate the flow of traffic and vital deliveries to businesses.
No public hearings had been scheduled about any of these construction projects! It was just rammed down our throats! We are barely coming out of a pandemic and this will just set us back. We are barely trying to open back up and during our busiest season you're gonna restrict traffic? And there is no place for trucks to stall and unload on Lake Ave! Drivers will just ignore doing deliveries around us! Where is the revised traffic plan with a designated spot for deliveries during the duration of construction!? When were the hearings scheduled for this?

Subject: Notice of Construction- Shoppers Ln and Del Mar CAUTION: This email was delivered from the Internet. Do not click links or open attachments unless you know the content is safe. To whom it "may" concern,
We have received a notice of construction from PWP notifying us regarding the project of installing new underground conduits for a new electrical system upgrade, without any prior notification. Was there even a public hearing held regarding this matter? As a business owner on Shoppers Ln, we hope and urge PWP to reconsider the schedule for this major project. As small business owners we are still navigating the uncertainties of a pandemic, have not even recovered half of our lost business due to it, and with a project like this the impact will be devastating for us.
With traffic closures on Shoppers Ln, and the traffic/parking restrictions on Lake, continuous current construction work on Del Mar how are you planning on "not disrupting" our delivery services, and who is going to absorb the loss of business during this project?
Please reconsider scheduling this. We have BARELY survived a pandemic that almost put us out of business 3 times within the last 3 years. The last thing we expect is our beloved city pushing us out of business.
Thank you,
