1, Mark Jomsky, City Clerk of the City of Pasadena, California, do hereby certify that a Charter Amendment Initiative Petition to Impose Rent Control, Create a Rental Housing Board, and Establish Just Cause Eviction Criteria in Pasadena was filed with the City Clerk's Office on March 28, 2022.
That said initiative petition consists of 1310 sections; That each section contains signatures purporting to be signatures of qualified electors of the City of Pasadena, California;
That attached to each petition section at the time the initiative petition was filed, was a signed affidavit purporting to be the affidavit of the person who solicited the signatures, and containing the dates between which the purported qualified electors signed said petition; and that the affiant stated in his or her own handwriting, that he or she had solicited the signatures upon that Section, that all the signatures were made in his or her own presence, and that to the best of his or her own information and belief, each signature to that section was the genuine signature of the person whose name it purports to be;
That after the proponents filed this petition, and based on the County of Los Angeles Registrar of Voters' Signature Verification Results (Exhibit A), I have determined the following facts regarding this initiative petition:
1. Total number of signatures filed by proponents: 20,564
2. Total number of signatures verified: 20,564
3. Number of signatures found to be sufficient: 15,101
4. Number of signatures found to be insufficient: 5,463
5. Number of signatures insufficient due to duplication 1,059 Based on the above, the initiative petition is certified to be sufficient in accordance with California Elections Code Section 9255.
