RE: Pasadena Housing Department's Proposed FY2023 Operating Budget Dear Mayor Gordo, Pasadena City Council Members, and Economic Development and Technology Committee Members,
We write to urge you to substantially increase General Fund appropriations for the Housing Department's FY 2023 Budget.
It is impossible to embody the core value of "decent, safe, affordable housing as an equal right for all Pasadena residents" when the Housing Department is markedly underfunded.
Please listen to informed, well-researched community members who make it their lives' work to serve and speak-up for our unsheltered residents, who are often voiceless due to their circumstances. Carefully consider their detailed correspondence letters.
Increase General Fund and ARPA appropriations to the Housing Department to better meet the needs of Pasadena's vulnerable and marginalized residents.
