------------------------ Charting the path forward to deeply decarbonize the electrical grid requires imagination and tools that don’t rely on the past, as the past is not a good model for the future we are creating. So much work is currently being done to transform the grid into a “smart” grid with tools like artificial intelligence based home control, distributed energy resources with rooftop solar and batteries, EV’s that can supply power to the grid, and grid based storage and new long distance sources of energy. There is not precedent for much of this and understanding and taking advantage requires new modeling tools. I would like to submit for your consideration the work of Vibrant Clean Energy in developing new granular modeling tools that predicts the value of distributed energy resources for future scenarios that can inform your decision making.
