Re: FY 2023 Enhancement Request - Watering of Street Trees Dear Municipal Services Committee members:
We strongly support the proposal by Linda-Vista Annandale Association and Pasadena Beautiful to implement a city street tree watering program and urge its quick adoption and funding through the city's budget process. We agree with Linda-Vista Annandale Association and Pasadena Beautiful that a good first step would be to hire a consultant to work with Urban Forestry to develop a plan and to integrate a street tree watering program into our city services. The street trees are an important investment in our community. It is critical that we care for them and give them the support they need to grow into mature, shade providing trees. We see city trees struggling throughout Pasadena. Particularly as the drought worsens, and we receive less rain each year, the health of our green spaces and street trees will depend on our active care.
