Dear Mayor, Vice Mayor and Councilmembers,
Re consent item No. 12:
I am writing to request that the City reject imposing any on-street dining fees on the restaurants in the Playhouse Village. These restaurants, for the most part, are dependent upon office workers who have not returned to their offices. Our restaurants are struggling to remain viable inspite of worker shortages and quickly escalating prices. This is not the time for the City to impose any fees on these restaurants until we get further into a recovery situation.
The City moved quickly to support our businesses at the begimiing of the Pandemic, and I urge you to rethink these fees until there is clear evidence that the restaurants won't be further burdened by these new fees.
