I believe I will be a significant value to the City Council, representing District 3 because my experience and qualifications will allow me to hit the ground running - I've watched City Council meetings, I'm familiar with the topics and know how the City works; I have a long history in this community - my family owns a business in the City and I know enough local experts to learn about issues I'm not versed on; and lastly, I am a young professional who has benefited from local education and services and want to help others like me stay in Pasadena to raise a family and call home. I am here to represent and listen to all people.

8. What specifically in your background, training, education, or interests qualifies you as an appointee?
Personal: I was bom and raised in the City of Pasadena. I come from modest means: my father was a small business owner, and my mother was a homemaker.

My family has been a staple in the Pasadena community, starting with a successfu! family business: Woods and Valentine's Mortuary. I received my education from Pasadena Public Schools; I played three years of varsity football for Pasadena High School. My first job was a rose program intern with the City of Pasadena Water and Power; and my second job was an engineering intern, during summer and winter breaks, with the Department of Public Works
Civic Engagement: I've served on and chaired two commissions in the City of Pasadena: I had the privilege to represent District 3 on the Human Relations Commission. I currently serve as the Chair for the Environmental Advisory Commission. I was asked and appointed by city staff to serve on the Stakeholder Technical Advisory Group for the Power Integrated Resource Plan; and I've collaborated with numerous City of Pasadena Departments: Parks, Recreation and Jones 3
Community Service, Police, Public Works and Water and Power in my role as commissioner and private citizen. During the Safer at Home Order, I partnered with STEAMCODERS to provide free math tutoring sen/ices to students who were falling behind during distance learning.

Public Service: I am a licensed Civil Engineer who works for the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works. My recent focus is to help administer the Safe, Clean Water Program, which most refer to as Measure W. The City of Pasadena is a complex municipal enterprise, that strives to provide outstanding services to our residents, and professionally I've done this my entire career with the public sector.

Representation: To my knowledge, in recent history, the Pasadena City Council has not had a licensed Civil Engineer serve as a Council Member. I would add a diverse professional representation to the Council and lean on my community, municipal and technical background to collaborate with the City Council. Also, my matriculation from a PUSD graduate; Rose Program intern; Engineering intern; City of Pasadena Commissioner to Council Member will add a unique perspective and representation to an already diverse City Council.

9. What do you see as the objectives and goals of the City Council? The City of Pasadena's objectives and goals are clearly defined in our mission statement: "The City of Pasadena is dedicated to delivering exemplary municipal services responsive to our entire community and consistent with our history, culture and unique character." In addition to the stated mission, the City Council represents and listens to all the citizens; and sets policy and strategic direction for the city to become more inclusive.

10. How would you help achieve these objectives and goals? What special qualities would you bring?
I have reviewed the Council meetings and have experience with items the Council regularly discusses - specific plans and development projects, water conservation and environmental stewardship, affordable housing and social equity. My detailed professional experience has provided me with the history, skills, and knowledge on providing municipal services with limited resources to constituents so I can hit the ground running.

I've worked with City Departments, Commissions, City Stakeholders through my civic experience; and I've worked with our regional partners through my professional experience.

Jones 4
I will be an excellent addition to the Council and representative for District 3. -""
