SUBJECT: 2022 LOCAL AGENCY BIENNIAL NOTICE OF AMENDMENT OF
PASADENA CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE
RECOMMENDATION:
This notice is required by law for information purposes only.
BACKGROUND:
Section 87306.5 of the Government Code requires a biennial review of the City's Conflict of Interest Code during each even-numbered year. Upon review of the Code by the City Attorney's Office, the Chief Executive Officer of the City must inform the City Council as a matter of public record whether revisions are required in the City's Conflict of Interest Code, the nature of the required revisions, and the approximate date such revisions will be made.
We have reviewed the City's Conflict of Interest Code in accordance with Government Code Section 87306.5 and have determined that the Code needs to be amended in order to:
(1) Include new positions (including certain consultants) which must be designated;
(2) Revise the titles of existing positions;
(3) Delete titles of positions that have been abolished; (4) Include the transfer of designated existing positions between departments; and,
(5) Revise disclosure categories.
These revisions will be submitted to the Council by the end of December, 2022. 10/03/2022 14 STR0727
