Dear City Council;
Please be advised I support the proposed mental health outpatient program with the county of Los Angeles before the council.
It is a necessary service and I believe it has proved successful in other neighboring cities.
It should help keep those in need of services off the streets and maintain better lives.
Since the Rose Bowl is not used during most of the time there may be locations inside the facility that could be used for such services.—Plus there is plenty of parking and transportation services to the location.

I worked for the County for many years — Child Protective Services, and mentally adults as inpatients and on the street. I'm acutely aware of the need for supportive housing for unhorsed mentally ill adults. I strongly support the need for housing backed with supportive services for this population.

As a person who has a family member with decades long mental health issues I wholeheartedly support expanded mental health services in Pasadena.
Mental health issues are insidious and often camouflaged with the individual's behavior to minimize the depth of the suffering. If more support is available, especially on an out patient basis, the person in need may feel more hope and support and a path to a healthier life.
The person in my family is now in physical crisis as well as battling depression and anxiety. I truly hope that the City can increase the level of support for those affected by mental illness. I applaud the City for taking the steps to go forward with a plan to provide the best services possible.
Thank you.

Good evening Mayor Gordo and City Council-
I was blown away by how fantastic this email was from District 2. As you all are keenly aware, I was actively participating in city council meetings for over 5 years and not once did I see such an email generated in this manner. It would be nice to see more council members reach out to their community about issues they support and gather public participation as Vice Mayor Williams has done here. Getting public feedback is key to making the best decisions possible for our city. I fully support Vice Mayor Williams in this regard. The mental health issue is stark and troubling for our youth right now. There is substantial data out there that shows just what a dire situation we are in. We all knew this was coming from lockdowns and school closures. I believe you do not have a choice but to support this and make it happen. Thank you to Vice Mayor Williams for continually standing up for our community. Erika Foy 3/13/2023

Dear Erika,
Each one of us is affected by mental health and there is a dire need for more facilities in the City. I have been working with the Mayor and councilmembers to bring more mental health outpatient services to Pasadena by collaborating with LA County, Huntington Hospital, Fuller School of Psychology, and Pacific Oaks College.
TONIGHT the City Council will vote to find properties in the City for possible joint City-County essential and mental health outpatient services. I hope you can support this effort by submitting a public comment here or coming to the meeting at 5:30pm (yes, we are back in person!).
You can find the full report and Los Angeles County motion here under Special Item A.
Thank you,
Vice Mayor Felicia Williams

Public Comment: Kameena Dawkins -
Just as a suggestion, it would be a prime opportunity to survey and collaborate with the existing mental health service providers in the District 2 area (like Foothill Family Services) or others that also serve the families with special needs individuals, that have yet to be mentioned here in this agenda.
Possibly combining these existing efforts within the same building structure, adjacent to public transit, could be an ideal solution for the community who may also develop the need for an outpatient area to treat Employee Wellness, in the near future.
Thank you for your attention!
Take great care,
Shine On!
