Good afternoon Municipal Services Committee,
Thank you for discussing sound walls along the 210 freeway. This sounds like a good idea.
My suggestion is to please also consider sound-walls to protect people waiting at the metro stops at Lake, Alien, and Sierra Madre Blvd. These metro stops are in the middle of the freeway, and they are very loud. Yesterday, I measured the sound level at the Sierra Madre metro stop to be 85 dB, which is considered an unhealthy level capable of doing permanent damage to hearing.
The loud freeway traffic at these metro stops is a real problem for riders. I would appreciate it if a future project could look into sound protection for these metro stops.
