Good evening Chair Williams and members of the Municipal Services Committee, I am writing to say THANK YOU for implementing a pilot program for e-bike rebates.
This program looks excellent, and I believe it will be an important step towards creating convenient, affordable, and sustainable transportation for Pasadena residents.
In creating the specifics of this program, PWP staff members Evan Johnson and Jonathan Sun have made an outstanding effort. They met with volunteers from Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition, and I understand they also talked with every bicycle shop in the city, both to educate themselves about e-bikes and to design a program that will meet the needs of Pasadena residents. The program they are bringing forward today clearly reflects the input they received.
THANK YOU - both to the City Council committee members for the fast action on this, and to PWP staff for an excellent implementation. It is really inspiring to see leadership making this positive change in our city.
