I am writing to provide public comment on Agenda Item 3 regarding the Flock Group Inc contract for fixed Automated License Plate Readers. I oppose approving this contract. I do not believe we should be increasing surveillance systems or giving the police more surveillance tools. The police in general, and the Pasadena Police Department specifically, have a history of abusing Black and Brown community members, and cannot be trusted with additional money and tools to surveil and criminalize our community.
