Dear Mayor Gordo:
I am writing to request that you strongly consider naming the pool at Jackie Robinson Park after former Councilman John J. Kennedy.
Councilman Kennedy was a strong proponent for his community and a dependable public servant. He advocated for facilities which would meaningfully improve the quality of life of his constituents. I vividly remember his tireless efforts to fund the pool project at Jackie Robinson Park. This pool was part of his vision to create safe and healthy spaces for residents to socialize and interact. I cannot think of a more fitting tribute for Councilman Kennedy than to name the pool at Jackie Robinson Park after him.
Because Dr. Edna Griffin also made an incredible mark on Pasadena, it would be appropriate for your Council to consider honoring her accomplishments in or near Brookside Park or in some other way.
Thank you for your consideration of this worthy tribute to John J. Kennedy.
