My name is Nick Laushkin, I am a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church Sustainability team and I urge you to support a plan for 100% carbon free electricity by 2030.
It is a moment of decision that rarely is available for us to act. I urge you to be good stewards of the City and its residents with a concern for the future generations that will inherit what we can do today..

My name is Alexandra Huttinger Ntazinda, I am a resident of district 6, and I urge you to support a plan for 100% carbon free electricity by 2030.
I know that there are uncertainties in moving fast to make transition to renewables. I understand that there will be rate payer impacts and I am willing to change my energy use behavior and accept cost implications.
I have 2 small kids. I want to be able to tell them proudly that we used to make electricity with fossil fuels but then the leaders and families in this city decided - as soon os possible - to stop that to help protect people and nature. Imagine the pride and sense of belonging and stewardship my kids and I will feel.
Sincerely,
lexandra Huttinger Ntazinda

City Council Members,
My name is Nancy Busacca, I am a resident of district 1, and I urge you to support a plan for 100% carbon free electricity by 2030.
I find it truly appalling that City Staff have spent 1,000,000 dollars to avoid dealing with the need to face the Climate Emergency like adults. The City of Sacramento's utility,
SMUD, is working with a carbon free goal of 2030 and hasn't felt the need to inflate future lectricity costs just so they could avoid doing their homework! Given the qualifications of members of Pasadena 100 to develop the real research, PWP clearly should have hired them to do the consulting on making OUR utility carbon free by 2030! And, BTW, it seems to me that 15 years ago the goal was to be carbon free by 2030 but then PWP quietly slid back to a goal of 2045. Please prove me wrong.
Nancy Busacca
Pasadena resident since 1971

City Council Members of the Municipal Services Committee, My name is Sam Berndt, I am a resident of district 5.
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says that climate change is a threat to human well- being, and that the actions implemented in this decade will determine if we will have a livable future for all.
As members of the STAG, we highlighted issues in PWP's integrated resource plan during its development, most importantly the design of unrealistic scenarios to achieve our carbon-free goal. PWP promised these as "building blocks" f a complete plan to come, but failed to deliver on that promise, leaving the city with fragments of a plan, problems without solutions, faulty and inflated cost assumptions, and an ask of you to approve of a 292 page document that you had only a couple hours to see.
We urge the MSC to require an IRP implementation plan, following the EAC's memo, to hold PWP accountable to create a practical timetine with milestones to achieve the 2030 goal.
The City of Pasadena has unified around the effort to decarbonize our electricity. With unanimous support from PUSD, PCC, the EAC, and the City Council - the City of Pasadena has positioned itself as leaders, a model city in the fight against climate change. We, as a city united, implore you to include a clear commitment in the Recommended Planning Strategy of the IRP to achieve 100% carbon-free electricity by 2030.
In solidarity,
Sam Berndt

My name is Tom Brady, I am a resident of district 6, and I urge you to support a plan for 100% carbon free electricity by 2030. Any discussion of energy costs must address the enormous social costs of fossil fuels in terms of rising heat, wildfires, flooding, etc. We do not have time to delay in facing this crisis. 1 Stevenson, Garrett

This is some of the most important work we can do in our lifetimes to protect the future for the next generations. Please do not let the short term costs distract from the long term needs. We need a carbon free future yesterday. The next best thing is a carbon free future now.
With gratitude for your work on behalf of our wonderful city. - EricSchnitger
