The following benefits have been observed by officers who train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:
• Provides more opportunity for de-escalation and an increased likelihood of gaining voluntary compliance without using categorical force. • More confidence in the officer when using force, which has resulted in lower levels of force used.
• Injury reduction to officers and suspects. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ·encourages positional dominance and control over strikes.
