Climate change has already had deep impacts into our community and I think Pasadena has a chance to be an exemplar if we have the will and commit the resources to becoming one. We are blessed with good bones as a city with lots of sun for solar energy, lots of light rail and busses to travel carbon-lite or free, and plenty of big trees. We need to double down and finish the job to make our city an example to follow, even if it's not easy or simple.

My name is Michael Robertson, I am a resident of district 4, and a professional Environmental Scientist. I urge you to support a plan for 100% carbon free electricity by 2030.
The City Council in January took the courageous step of passing a resolution to achieve renewable power by 2030 hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent studying this effort and many months have passed. I hope that at this meeting, we have a concrete plan we can put into action that will get us to our goal quickly and responsibly.
The People of the City of Pasadena, are watching and time is of the essence. Those who will suffer most from the effects of climate change are our children and their children and we have to act now to save our future if not for ourselves, than for them.
We owe it to our great city to have the best resources that are responsibly managed for our people. We need Pasadena Water and Power to step up to the plate and make this dream a reality.
