AUTHORIZE PREVIOUSLY-NOTICED 4:30 P.M. REGULAR

MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO TAKE PLACE VIA

TELECONFERENCE PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA
GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54953(e)(1) (City Manager)
Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council:
(1) Find that the recommended action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines per 15061(b)(3), the "common sense" provision that CEQA only applies to projects that may have a significant effect on the environment; and
(2) Authorize the 4:30 p.m. regular meeting of the City Council to take place via teleconferencing pursuant to California Government Code Section 54953(e)(1), in view of the Governor's proclamation of a state of emergency.

Mayor Gordo introduced the item, and reported that this action would provide flexibility to City staff, Councilmembers, and members of the public to participate in the scheduled City Council meeting remotely, due to the winter storm conditions.

City Attorney Bagneris reported that this action can be taken since Governor Newsom issued a proclamation of a state of emergency.

City Clerk Jomsky noted that the Council Chambers will remain open to members of the public that wish to participate in person.
