Dear Councilmember Jones
I am a resident of your district, living at , Pasadena, CA 91101-4505], and I am writing this letter in support of Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional Housing Project at 724 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, which will be considered by City Council on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and this project will meet that need. [OPTIONAL: As a partner with the affordable housing option, I stand by them because I believe that families should stay together, and the organization is really helping them to do so. The families are not only getting housed, but they are getting housed, meals and food, job training, Children getting mentoring and tutoring and help to find good jobs and eventually finding a place of their own afterwards.].

Door of Hope already operates two transitional homes for unhoused families in Pasadena, and they have an outstanding reputation in the community both as good neighbors and successful service providers. 86% of the families who move from their shelters to affordable housing are still housed five years later, and they are arguably the nicest home on the block at their two Pasadena locations.

For this reason, I urge you to support this new project and help provide the needed funding by approving Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena.

Thank you!

Dear Jason:

I am a resident of your district, living at , and I am writing this letter in support of Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional Housing Project at 724 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, which will be considered by City Council on Monday, February 26, 2024.

As I know you know, Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and this project will meet that need. I think we would agree that homeless parents with children are an especially vulnerable subset of the many who are homeless in our city. I'm so grateful for Door of Hope's remarkable success in meeting the needs of families without housing and, as you'll see below, their track record is truly remarkable.

Door of Hope already operates two transitional homes for unhoused families in Pasadena (on North Los Robles and East Villa), and they have an outstanding reputation in the community, both as good neighbors and successful service providers. 86% of the families who move from their shelters to affordable housing are still housed five years later, and they are arguably the nicest home on the block at their two Pasadena locations.

For this reason, I urge you to support this new project and help provide the needed funding by approving Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena when presented to you at next Monday's Council meeting.

Thank you, Jason, and my best to you and Tim.
