Dear Councilmember Jones
I am a resident of your district, living at , Pasadena, CA 91101-4505], and I am writing this letter in support of Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional Housing Project at 724 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, which will be considered by City Council on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and this project will meet that need. [OPTIONAL: As a partner with the affordable housing option, I stand by them because I believe that families should stay together, and the organization is really helping them to do so. The families are not only getting housed, but they are getting housed, meals and food, job training, Children getting mentoring and tutoring and help to find good jobs and eventually finding a place of their own afterwards.].

Door of Hope already operates two transitional homes for unhoused families in Pasadena, and they have an outstanding reputation in the community both as good neighbors and successful service providers. 86% of the families who move from their shelters to affordable housing are still housed five years later, and they are arguably the nicest home on the block at their two Pasadena locations.

For this reason, I urge you to support this new project and help provide the needed funding by approving Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena.

Thank you!

Dear Jason:

I am a resident of your district, living at , and I am writing this letter in support of Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional Housing Project at 724 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, which will be considered by City Council on Monday, February 26, 2024.

As I know you know, Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and this project will meet that need. I think we would agree that homeless parents with children are an especially vulnerable subset of the many who are homeless in our city. I'm so grateful for Door of Hope's remarkable success in meeting the needs of families without housing and, as you'll see below, their track record is truly remarkable.

Door of Hope already operates two transitional homes for unhoused families in Pasadena (on North Los Robles and East Villa), and they have an outstanding reputation in the community, both as good neighbors and successful service providers. 86% of the families who move from their shelters to affordable housing are still housed five years later, and they are arguably the nicest home on the block at their two Pasadena locations.

For this reason, I urge you to support this new project and help provide the needed funding by approving Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena when presented to you at next Monday's Council meeting.

Thank you, Jason, and my best to you and Tim.

Councilmember Madison —
As I believe you know, my wife and I live in your District at „_ _.-.^ _..... I am writing this message in support: of Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional hlousing Project at 724 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, which will be considered by City Council on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and this project will meet that need. The Door of Hope has an incredible track record of success working with families experiencing homelessness. I am proud to say I serve on the Board of Door of Hope and I attest that it is a high quality organization.

For this reason, we urge you to support this new project and help provide the needed funding by approving Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena.

Thank you!
Dick and Darleen Kleinert

Hi Ms. Williams,
I hope all is well with you. My name is Nick and I am a resident of your district living in the 91104 area. I am writing this letter in support of Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional Housing Project at 724 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, which will be considered by City Council on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and this project will meet that need. I am confident that door of Hope possesses a profound understanding of the community's needs and the capability to take the necessary steps in transitioning families into functional members of society.

Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and this project will meet that need. Affordable housing is almost impossible to find in our area as you are well aware.

Felicia,
I know your heart is to help families that are on the fringes of society and to keep them from becoming homeless. As you have mentioned on your campaign, Pasadena needs more shelter and affordable housing options for unhoused families, and the proposed Door of Hope project will meet that need. Michael & I have been involved with the Doorof Hope for many years because of their follow-through for a family to stay together with a Christian heart of counseling, support for the children, finding apartments and consistent follow through once the families graduate from the Door of Hope Program.

Therefore, I am writing this letter in support of Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional Housing Project at 724 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, which will be considered by City Council on Monday, February 26,2024. I urge you to support this new project and help provide the needed funding by approving Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena.

Thank you again for your support.

Ellen Guevara
P.S. See you tomorrow morning to support your campaign. 1 Iraheta, Alba

Door of Hope Loan Vote

Greetings:

I'm writing to ask for your supporting vote for Door of Hope's loan request to the City of Pasadena for its Transitional Housing Project at 724 N. Marengo Avenue in Pasadena. It is being brought to the City Council on Monday, February 26, 2024.

I am a member of your district but I know Door of Hope well. I have watched it grow from a small single dwelling into the very successful nonprofit that they are now. They keep careful records, and so can demonstrate that 86% of the families who move from their shelters to affordable housing are still housed five years later. They now have two transitional housing sites in Pasadena, both of which are well kept, and they work hard to be good neighbors in their local areas. The addition of this new location can only be a plus for our city and, more importantly, for those families.

I urge your positive vote, and thank you for your service to us as our Council member.

Elizabeth Patterson

Dear Councilineniber Williams:

As a resident of District 2, a local attorney, and a 60-year member of Lake Avenue Church, I am writing to ask that you support of Door of Hope as it seeks a loan from the City of Pasadena to build upon its highly effective service to at-risk families, using federal and local funds already allocated to addressing homelessness. I knew the founders of Door of Hope, Lake Avenue Church and its people are deeply involved in its support, my wife leads a team in providing monthly meals to the residents, and my friend Andy Bales' former home is at the center of this strategic move forward. I have seen— and no doubt you are aware—how effective Door of Hope's approach has been in preventing homelessness and overcoming its effects on the most vulnerable members of our community.

I look forward to the City Council's approval of the loan, with your full support.

Very truly yours,
Bob Sloat (•
