Fine-Tuning Homelessness Plan Targets
With two years of data, we plan to revise our yearly prevention and housing targets to ensure we stay on track to achieve a 50% reduction in homelessness.
10 Despite housing nearly twice as many people as anticipated, our decrease was only 9% instead of the projected 13%, indicating the need for more ambitious housing goals.

Moreover, higher-than-anticipated inflows underscore the urgency to ramp up prevention efforts.

Insight 2
Insight 1
Department of Housing
Year One Successes
In year one…
Nearly double the anticipated
number of people were
permanently housed
We achieved a 9% reduction in the
number of people experiencing
homelessness annually.

These results show that concerted
efforts can move the needle in
meaningful ways.
