Dear Mayor Gordo:
I am glad to write this letter in support of Rusnak Auto Group, who for more than 60 years has been a shining star in Pasadena's business community. Today, I am pleased to share that PCC and Rusnak Auto Group are working to formalize a new partnership to supercharge the college's automotive technology program, helping students gain professional experience in Rusnak service bays.
As an alumnus of Pasadena City College, you know firsthand the benefits PCC provides for our local community. For 100 years, residents of Pasadena and the West San Gabriel Valley have come to PCC to gain knowledge, skills, and abilities to pursue their educational goals and advance their careers.
In fact, the students, alumni, and employees of Pasadena City College make the college an economic engine for our region, as nearly 2% of our region's economic product can be directly attributed to PCC.
Real-world job training is a vital part of the educational experience at PCC, particularly within our career technical education areas. Our new partnership with Rusnak will take advantage oftop-tier technology in high-performance, hybrid, and electric vehicles, as well as soft skills on the job, creating a strong foundation in the latest concepts of automotive technology.
On-site internships can be the key to success for our students, yet they are hard to come by. This partnership will drive PCC students to secure internships and eventually employment opportunities, putting them on the road to a thriving career in our community.
Pasadena City College's century-long tradition of advancement through education would not be possible without the assistance of community partners such as the Rusnak Auto Group. As Rusnak's economic impact in our region continues to expand, it will fuel PCC's expansion as well, accelerating our mission into the next 100 years.
