Honorable Mayor Victor Gordo
100 North Garfield Avenue
Pasadena, CaUfornia 91109
Dear Honorable Mayor:
As you know, I will be sworn in as a member of the City Council on December 9 of this year.
It has been my privilege to serve our City as a member of the Planning Commission over the past two and a half years. During that dme, the Commission has broadened its focus, taking a wider view of its responsibiUdes. The leadership of former Chair Mic Hansen has improved our relations with staff and raised the level of analysis and discourse among ourselves and with the pubUc. We've made significant strides in addressing our City's capital needs and affordable housing challenges as well as worked to improve meaningful implementation of the City's planning efforts.
I want to particularly thank the outstanding staff led by Director Jennifer Paige for their consistent professionalism, responsiveness and dedicadon. I am especially grateful to my Commission colleagues for their thoughtful contributions to our shared efforts. And, of course I appreciate the trust shown by Councilmemberjess Rivas in nominadng me to the Commission and am grateful to Councihnember FeUcia WiUiams for making the modon for my appointiment.
I will miss serving on the Commission, so it is with regret that I submit my resignation, effective December 6, 2024.1 look forward to supporting the staff and the Commission under Chair Carol Hunt-Hernandez in their work during my rime on the CouncU — and joining you, CouacUmember Rivas and my former Commission colleague, Councilmember Jason Lyon.
Best wishes always,
' Rick Cole

Sherene,
Please convey this email to the CPOC board. I have copied other city entities.
I hereby tender my resignation as a commissioner for the Pasadena Community Police Oversight Commission, effective immediately.
I applied for the Independent Auditor position, expecting that if I were appointed, I could then resign from the commission. However, as I have Learned, the application while being a commissionerwould qualify as a conflict. It is best that I resign from the commission before it takes up any consideration of the IPA applicants.
I feel my background and skills would better serve the city as the independent auditor than as a commissioner, if I am lucky enough to be appointed.
I consider it an honor to have been nominated by Councilwoman Williams, and I appreciate the support of the City Council who confirmed me.
