At the Legislative Policy Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the Committee approved the staff recommendation with a modification. The amended motion and approved action read (amended language is underlined):
Support Assembly Bill 229 (AB239) to create a State-led Disaster Housing Task Force and specify that the task force include representatives from the cities and towns impacted by the wildfires.
The Committee also directed that this amended language be included in advocacy letter(s) the Mayor sends in support of the bill.
