Dear Municipal Services Committee,
I am hoping to be at the meeting today, but just in case I can't due to overseeing debris removal at the site of my former house, I wanted to write to say I believe a major increase in rooftop solar is essential to Pasadena's success in getting to a carbon-free goal.
Our church
has recently completed a roof-top solar project, and would love others and our whole city to benefit from such a move.
Rooftop solar reduces demand on the grid, helps our city's energy security, and reduces the immediate financial burden on PWP and its ratepayers - since private property owners are investing in solar that can then be used by PWP.
Along with my
congregation, I care deeply about climate change, and would love to see our city move expeditiously to a 100% carbon free future.
Grateful for you work and best wishes,
Rev. Dr. Matthew Colwell
