Greetings,

As a recent evacuee of the Eaton Fire, I have experienced the devastating impacts of climate change.

No rain since last May and Santa
Ana winds combined on January 7th to create an inferno that unalterably changed the lives of tens of thousands of people.

I care about climate change and want Pasadena to be powered by 100% carbon free electric power.

Burning coal and gas to generate
electricity causes greenhouse gas emissions that are destroying the quality of our lives and our children's future. (See Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, etc.).

In the aftermath of the Eaton fire, we all realize that climate action is urgent.

We cannot wait until we have the perfect plan.

We
should not delay any further to commit to a goal for increasing local solar dramatically.

This includes encouraging private investment in
rooftop solar on homes and commercial properties.

It also means
developing public solar projects to provide the benefit of solar to apartment dwellers.

In addition, I have listened to Mayor Gordo profess care and concern for residents of Pasadena and neighboring Altadena in the wake of the fire.

Pasadena can go one step further than expressing concern and take action by supporting 100% carbon free electric power.

Sincerely,
Meredith Rose
