To those deciding on the future design of PWP's electrical sourcing, It is imperative that 100% carbon-free electric power sources comprise PWP's redesign -- in entirety.
Imported
clean electricity (which is the California trend) + local solar + batteries + demand management is absolutely an achievable goal for our utility company.
PWP is city-owned, so there is no reason to follow the trend of for-profit utility companies (like So Cal Edison), which weaken the incentives for private investment in rooftop solar.
That
would be incredibly counter-productive -- especially given the dire warming trends that have caused the greatest climate disaster in US history:
the Eaton and Palisades fires.
Please take the actions needed for our local, city-
owned utility company.
