Dear Mayor Gordo and Members of the City Council:
Item #5 on the agenda of the special joint meeting of the Council and Supervisor Kathryn Barger is "Information on Measure A htomeless Funding."
Pasadena has an urgent need for interim housing for our over 300 unsheltered residents. The Economic Development and Technology Committee of this Council has advised the public that the subject of a master Lease of motels for interim housing, to be located in Pasadena, is to be agendized at an upcoming meeting of that Committee.
Please inquire of SupemsorBarger whether Measure A funding for that housing option will be available to the City. Please also request that the Supervisor's staff meet with Pasadena hiousing Department Staff, along with Rabbi Joshua Grater, Executive Director of Friends in Deed, to discuss a potential partnership of the City and County to fund a motel master Lease interim housing project and/or a motel conversion to interim housing project.
