smaller in 1910 Sanborn and 1915 BDB
(where floor is noted as wood), but the 1931
Sanborn matches the current porch.

Apparently significantly remodeled between
1915 and 1931. BDB has undated mark-ups
showing siding (BP for this 1921), concrete
foundation, longer building and larger porch.

NR claims this is an altered 1890 house (no
source given), but BDB and BP show 1938
new construction; materials and inspections
for framing, etc., are entirely consistent with
new build. Has been Victorian-ized in recent
years. Front stoop enlarged 2001 (BP).

C C See NR document, but the narrative is in
error in claiming this was built in 1890 - BDB
and BP show new construction 1938, and
1931 Sanborn is blank. No hint of move-on in
BDB. Appearance of floor framing not
consistent with Victorian era. House also
resembles another by Cermak at 968 N
Chester.

C C See NR document, the NR survey is in error
in claiming there are changes to the front

evidence of any such changes other than
tiling over the cement. The idea that the

purely speculative and not very likely. The
window changes and addition of door

enough to make the house a non-contributor.

To rear of 1183. Original garage built on
same BP as house but Sanborns show that it
has disappeared; present garage is farther
back on lot and larger, but no permits found
(it is after 1931 Sanborn). Converted 2019-
2022 to make ADU, including a wing on N
side of garage. Finaled 12/13/22.

NC NC This dwelling unit is a large addition to, and
conversion of, a post-1931 garage. The
existing garage is attached (in changed form).

The combination is too altered to be
contributing.

clapboard Wingert, Samuel
H.
1915 BDB includes dormer and lists
cobblestone trimmings. Changes to front
porch - swept (bellcast) eaves in rear but now
chopped off in front; column and rail
changes. Owner-builder was a carpenter
(directory). BP in 1921 to raise attic roof and
add rms.

NC NC Integrity has been diminished by a number of
changes, Newer porch supports, railings and
some windows. Rear eaves swept (flared or
bellcast) but front eaves not swept and have
been cut back; dormer roof appears cut back;
central part of Chicago window group south
of main door seems to have been converted
to a secondary door.
