Hello
I am unable to attend the meeting tonight - 7/15 as I am still displaced from my home in Pasadena that suffered extensive smoke and toxin contamination in addition to wind damage from the Eaton Fire.
I would like to ask that the committee
include those of us in the mandatory evacuation zone
who have
standing
homes that were damaged in waiving or reducing fees for permits / inspections relating to repairs.
We will be faced with permit and inspection fees for things such as replacing attic insulation, reroofing, changing HVAC systems etc as part of trying to remediate our homes.
Though not
directly damaged by the flames we are suffering from tremendous financial
hardships from the
fires and in many cases have insurance
companies that are trying to downplay the damage to
our homes and not assisting in paying for the repairs they should be.
