Dear Mayor and City Councilmembers,
We at Making Housing and Community Happen totally support allocating $240,860 for the renovation of the Bad Weather Shelter at Trinity Lutheran Church. I also urge you to take to heart that recommendation of Council member Cole that the Bad Weather Shelter that funding be provided so that this shelter can be be open year-round,
Trinity Lutheran is a small church with a huge heart that deserves thanks from the city not only for hosting the Bad Weather Shelter but also the Safe Parking Program, which has placed 17 parkers into permanent housing.

Pastor Sharon Richter is to be commended for her deep and compassionate commitment to what Jesus called "the least of these, my brothers and sisters." During this season when we honor the birth of Jesus Christ, let us take to heart His teaching and proclaim "good news to the poor." Anthony Manousos
