RE: Agenda Item #3: Motorola Solutions contract for new Police Dispatch Radio Consoles Good morning, Mayor Gordon and City Council Members.
With regard to Council agenda item #3 - Motorola Dispatch Consoles, I have been informed by a very reliable source with City of Los Angeles Police Department's 91 1 Emergency Dispatchers that they switched to the Motorola PremierOne CAD units in 2019. Some problems were fixed in the first couple years of the contract but support services since then have languished and repairs have gone unaddressed.
I bring this to your attention in case the contractor for this Item #3 contract is the same one used by City of Los Angeles Police. Additional information, research or contract provisions might be warranted. "Buyer beware", please.
