Chair & Members of Municipal Services Committee,
We in PASADENA 100 are delighted to see the City responsive to the needs of working-class Pasadena residents. The equal distribution of rate increases in this case is more equitable in that the residents of Pasadena who consume a minor fraction of the overall electricity demand, when compared to other customer classes, are not unduly burdened by the budget deficit.
We commend the Municipal Services Committee, its chair, the City Council Members who serve on it, and Pasadena Water and Power staff for their bravery, resolve, and creative problem-solving in standing up to the status quo-and standingwith the people of Pasadena.
Wethankyou and Look forward to your continued leadership that puts equity, transparency, and Pasadena residents first.
In solidarity,
Sam Berndt
On behalf of PASADENA 1 00
