To the Economic Development & Technology Committee,
I am one of many people who have been impacted by the Eaton Fire. Our home is still standing and experienced no thermal damage. However, after remediation, we moved back in and within a month started experiencing respiratory symptoms that required medical care. Further testing showed levels of various toxins, including carcinogens, as well as soot/ash in wall cavities and throughout our home. The professional recommendation is to completely gut the attic and home in order to make it safe to live in.

Homes that are a total loss are receiving reduced or waived permit fees. Please apply the same standard for fire impacted Standing Homes that need work in order to make homes safe and livable for our families.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Laurie Nouguier
