Council Member,
Dear Council Member,
Item 3 on the consent agenda for the April 13 City Council meeting is a $3.5 million contract with Motorola Solutions. Pasadena needs to stop purchasing Motorola Solutions products because of the company's long history of contracting with the Department of hlomeland Security.
On February 23, 2026, City Council unanimously approved a resolution taking steps to mitigate the impacts of federal immigration raids on our community. An important element of that resolution is a requirement that City contractors and bidders disclose any contracts or agreements with the Department of Homeland Security. Motorola Solutions currently has nearly $16 million in contracts with the Department of Homeland Security, including $15.6 for communication equipment. Between 2008 and July 2024, Customs and Border Patrol awarded Motorola Solutions over $391 .3 million worth of contracts.
City Council's words need to be backed by actions. Please reject the proposed Motorola contract and seek a different vendor that does not have millions of dollars of contracts with the Department of Homeland Security. Approving a $3,530,00 contract with a major DhlS contractor will send the message that the City is not sincerely committed to both the letter and spirit of their Resolution.

Council Member,
Dear Council Member,
Item 3 on the consent agenda for the April 13 City Council meeting is a $3.5 million contract with Motorola Solutions. Pasadena needs to stop purchasing Motorola Solutions products because of the company's long history of contracting with the Department of Homeland Security.
Approving a $3,530,00 contract with a major DHS contractor will send the message that the City is not sincerely committed to both the letter and spirit of their Resolution.

Dear City Council,
Item 3 on the consent agenda for tonight's (4/13) City Council meeting is a $3.5 million contract with Motorola Solutions. Pasadena needs to stop purchasing Motorola Solutions products because of the company's long history of contracting with the Department of hlomeland Security.
At the Feb.23, 2026 City Council Meeting, the Council approved a resolution that helps take steps to mitigate impacts of ICE raids on our community. This resolution includes that the City disclose any contracts or agreements with DHS. Motorola Solutions currently has nearly $16 million in contracts with the Department of hlomeland Security, includjng$15.6for communication equipment. Between 2008 and July 2024, Customs and Border Patrol awarded Motorola Solutions over $391.3 million worth of contracts.
The City continues to tell its residents that the City is concerned for their well-being and against the ICE raids, even going as far as partnering with the CCFto launch the community assistance fund, soliciting donations from the community. I fear that continuing to partner with companies that assist in human rights violations, both in the USA and across the world, the efforts of the city to claim they protect the well-being of its residents will fall short and seem disingenuous. Please do not partner with Motorola or other companies that assist in genocide and/or human righst violations.

Council Member,
Dear Council Member,
There is something inconsistent with City Council making statements against ICE activity in the community while choosing to pay a company that has so many connections to the facilitation of surveillance here as well as abroad. As someone who works with a vulnerable community in Pasadena, I am asking that you move to stop the purchase of Motorola Solutions products.
