Improvements include curb extensions (bulbouts), sidewalk widening between Maple Street and Villa Street, upgraded pedestrian lighting, high-visibility crosswalks, leading pedestrian intervals, lane narrowing to calm traffic, and accessibility upgrades to curb ramps and tactile warning strips. Additional improvements near Boylston Street include new crosswalks and other measures intended to reduce pedestrian crossing distances and improve visibility.
