I will do my best to attend the meeting tonight on behalf of my community, but I also wanted to write in and ask that the committee please support the advancement of waiving permit fees for standing homes in Pasadena that are necessary to restore homes to pre-fire condition. I am the proud owner of a single family home in Pasadena, in Councilman Tyron Hampton's district, evacuating the night of the fire with my husband, 2 year old child and dog. Our still-standing home requires extensive, down-to- the studs remediation per an industrial hygienist report and multiple rounds of testing. Paying for these permit costs is a massive financial burden on those of us with owner-occupied homes who are just trying to return to our pre-fire lives safely (and many of us are already fighting extensive financial battles with our insurance companies).
