Dear Mr. Lyon,
As resident of Pasadena, my home being in your district, I want to plainly and dearly state that our city's response to the climate emergency is a top priority for me. I want our city to achieve the goal set by the Council of 100% carbon free electric power by 2030. As we witness increasing heat, with thousands dying in Europe, with fires destroying homes and habitat all over the world, we must stop burning fossil fuels.
The single most effective way to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that are the cause of the climate crisis is to transition to carbon free electric power.
We cannot wait until 2045.
We appreciate the City Council for setting this clean energy mandate and we urge you to stay resolved to ACHIEVE THE GOAL that you have set. • For our quality of life and for the survival of our children, we must stop burning fossil fuels.
• Pasadena 100 has identified omissions in the Progress Report and there are questions as to why.
• The information in the staff memo and Power Point about plans and funding for Municipal Solar are confusing.
We need clear information about how The City will proceed with the plan. We must not make compromises. We are in a crisis emergency situation. We are facing devastation -- as we are witnessing in other parts of the world.
We are not safe or immune from it.
Thank you for listening to your citizen's concerns.
