TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: City Attorney/City Prosecutor Department
SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE
CITY OF PASADENA TO ESTABLISH THE ARBOLEDA DRIVE
LANDMARK OVERLAY DISTRICT
TITLE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASADENA AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO ESTABLISH THE ARBOLEDA DRIVE (LD-29) LANDMARK OVERLAY
DISTRICT
PURPOSE OF ORDINANCE
This ordinance implements and codifies the boundaries of the Arboleda Drive Landmark Overlay District, as approved by the City Council on August 17,2026.
REASON WHY LEGISLATION IS NEEDED
This legislation is needed to amend the Zoning Map to create overlay zoning of certain properties that are included in the Arboleda Drive Landmark Overlay District, based on historical characteristics of the structures within the District. Among other things, a landmark overlay district promotes development consistent with the historic and cultural resource elements and the Secretary of Interior Standards and other design guidelines, as well as conservation and enhancement of landmark districts by applying additional standards to development in the landmark overlay district. Pursuant to the Pasadena Municipal Code, this ordinance is required to establish a landmark district. ///
