August 31 City Council Meeting - Items 8 and 10 - Attendance Reporting Some people who received this message don't often get email fromn why this is important [ l ] CAUTION: This email was delivered from the Internet. Dear Mayor Gordo and Members of the City Council,
I am writing regarding Items 8 and 10 on the August 31 agenda. I appreciate the Council examining problems with the committee system and Council meeting start and end times.

Pasadena should also publish an annual attendance report for every councilmember covering both City Council and standing committee meetings.

The report could show each member's arrival time, whether and when they left early, remote participation, complete absences, and meetings canceled because there was no quorum. Listing someone only as "present" does not show whether they arrived late or left before important discussions or votes.

Right now, it can be difficult for anyone to find this information without searching through meeting minutes, cancellation notices, agendas, and hours of video. A simple annual report would improve transparency by giving residents a clear and consistent record of councilmember attendance and its effect on City business.

Please consider evaluating this proposal as part of the Council's discussion.

Thankyou,
Chris dark

Thankyou raising this issue. The continued cancellation and significant delay in committee meetings (particular egregious in Public Safety Committee) needs to be addressed by some actionable change.

It is a big problem for the City and its residents when the committees fail to meet. The business of the City is delayed at the expense of residents, it delays necessary policymaking that result in deferred or denied justice, and sows civic disengagement.

I want to see the problem resolved. I'm not particularly interested in purely-punitive measures.

Change the schedules, reorganize the committees, but show up, meet the public, and do the work you ran for and were elected to do.
