Hi,
Please find attached my public comment for the September 16, 2026 Pasadena Public Safety Committee Meeting, agenda item 1. CPOC proposed review of PPD technology policy. Thanks, Yadi
1 1. CPOC proposed review of PPD technology policy
Please, do not codify this horrible proposal.

Several members of CPOC openly admitted on the record that they lack understanding of the technologies that they then eagerly rubber-stamp for PPD.

We thanked them for their honesty. We also asked that they also flag for Council that they lack theauthority, knowledge or understanding to oversee complicated Al and analytics-heavy technologyproposed or used by Pasadena Police.

We showed the IPA and CPOC the rather thorough ALPR audit conducted by the City of Los Angeles Office of Inspector General and urged Pasadena's ALPR "audit" be redone...it fell on deaf ears.

We asked the CPOC to inquire with the City about city-wide Al policy to ensure it aligns and doesnot conflict with their proposed PPD Al assisted report writing...they said nothing.

We asked the CPOC bring in outside experts to evaluate Drone as First Responder like the City of Berkeley did (and I submitted as a separate comment)...we get nothing.

We told CPOC that if they recommend to council anything but to remove Flock cameras - as is the overwhelming will of the people - they are wasting their time Grafting any policy revisions.

Instead, they attempt to pass off a sampling of recent ALPR public comment as thoroughlyresearch and a complete record of ALPR dialogue in Pasadena. They didn't even capture half mycomments.

This does the public a gross disservice and is a complete and utter waste of our time. CPOC is doing nothing but rubber stamping the materials that PPD puts in front of their faces.CPOC cannot seriously claim they speak for the people. They should not be patting themselves on the back for "rules and regulations" which don't touch the public's concerns, address the public's input, or actually evaluate any of PPDs technology.

We're not starving. Don't shove this moldy piece of bread down our throats.
