Committee Members, Many Pasadena residents have already written and shared their concerns about the signature gatherers for the "Fair" hlousing Charter Amendment, so I will just add that I had virtually the exact same experience multiple times in the vicinity of the Memorial Park Metro Station. Signature gatherers were aggressive and blatantly lied about the content and purpose of the amendment. Luckily I had already heard about this and just kept walking away until the signature gather found someone else to harrass.

I ask that

1. The Committee recommend a strong "OPPOSE" position on the charter amendment, and 2. The City take appropriate action to pursue misdemeanor charges against the involved individuals and further seek to take legal action against "Pasadena Housing Providers" for not appropriately supervising their paid employees or contract workers and allowing (and even encouraging) the blatant violation of California Election Code.

Thank you!

Chair Madison and Members of the Legislative Policy Committee, My name is Colin Bogart and I am a resident of District 1 in Pasadena. I am writing to tell you about my experience encountering signature gatherers that I have learned were hired by a ballot measure committee called "Pasadena Housing Providers," who are attempting to qualify a measure for the ballot to weaken and eventually repeal essential tenant protections in Pasadena.

I encountered a guy outside Target in the Playhouse Village a couple weeks ago who asked me to sign a petition for rent control in Pasadena.I had heard there were people doing this. I was in a hurry so I simply told him no and kept walking, but it confirmed for me that the problem of misrepresentation is real. I voted in favor of Measure H so I'm troubled by this ballot campaign.

I don't understand how anyone can legally misrepresent a ballot measure in this way. I urge you to investigate and prosecute the individuals who have propagated the false information about this ballot measure and make it clear that this kind of blatant Lying and manipulation is not welcome or tolerated in Pasadena.Thankyou.

Sincerely,Colin Bogart
