Hello,
I am writing to express my discontent with the proposal for surveillance technology on Pasadena owned garbage trucks. As a Pasadena Resident (District 3) I'm disturbed by the level of surveillance that Pasadena is implementing. First we are seeing Flock cameras pop up everywhere, now the city wants to introduce cameras on trash trucks? Issues with auto-blurring and redactions are common and welldocumented with this kind of surveillance technology, so there are potential privacy concerns. In addition, Pasadena already has a low crime rate and high reporting rate for illegal dumping, so this is awaste of taxpayer money.
Please do not waste my tax payer dollars on this - the community is deeply uncomfortable with this! Nina

Dear members of the Municipal Services Committee,
This comment regards Item 3, Refuse Truck Camera Policy Presentation.
The people of Pasadena have been letting the city know again and again that we don't want Flock/ALPRcameras on poles around our parks, schools, places of worship, businesses, hospitals, freeway ramps... we don't want them anywhere. We have provided the Council and the community with data on the risks of using mass surveillance technology, and we have appreciated Councilmembers who have reviewed this information and joined with us by voicing concerns.
In the same spirit, we are asking you to speak out against putting Al cameras on refuse vehicles or other municipal service vehicles in Pasadena, and to block any effort to further limit people's priivacy in our own homes and communities. The risks of surveillance tech far outweigh the benefits.
Thankyou,
Jennifer Collins
Pasadena resident, Districts
