CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 6:30 PM 6:30 PM – CALL TO ORDER
ROLL CALL Councilmembers Steve Gregory, John Hamon, Fred Strong (absent at start of meeting), and Mayor Steven Martin

6:38 PM – RECESS The meeting recessed until Councilmember Strong arrived. 6:51 PM – CALL TO ORDER
DISCUSSION
1. City Council Vacancy Appointment and Oath of Office
PUBLIC COMMENT. None
Councilmembers interviewed each of the applicants individually in the public session prior to making a motion as to selection of an applicant to fill the vacancy. Applicants were:
• Chris Bausch
• Keith Boyd
• Lars Jorgensen
• Rick VanSant
ROLL CALL VOTE #1: Motioned by Councilmember Hamon, seconded by Councilmember Gregory, and failed to pass with a tie vote of 2-2 (Strong and Martin opposed) to appoint Lars Jorgensen to the vacant City Council position.
AYES: Hamon, Gregory
NOES: Martin, Strong
ROLL CALL VOTE #2: Motioned by Councilmember Strong, seconded by Councilmember Gregory, and passed unanimously to appoint Chris Bausch to the vacant City Council position.
AYES: Strong, Gregory, Hamon, Martin
Upon the decision to appoint Chris Bausch as a councilmember Mayor Martin administered the oath of office to Councilmember Bausch.
ADJOURNMENT of the August 24, 2022 Special City Council Meeting at 8:05 PM. Motioned by Councilmember Bausch, seconded by Councilmember Gregory, and passed unanimously by voice vote to adjourn to the September 20, 2022 Regular City Council meeting.
