ADVISORY BODY INTERVIEWS AND APPOINTMENTS
for Community Organization Applicants to the
YOUTH COMMISSION
Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 5:30 PM
5:30 PM – CALL TO ORDER
ROLL CALL Councilmembers Chris Bausch, Steve Gregory, John Hamon (absent due to recusal), Fred Strong(absent), and Mayor Steven Martin
PUBLIC COMMENT. None
ADVISORY BODY INTERVIES
1. Youth Commission
The Paso Robles Youth Commission was established in 1999 as an advisory body to the City Council.
Members learn about, suggest, and review policies, programs, and services related to youth issues. In addition, members assist with special events and are involved in activities such as community services projects, youth conventions, and bringing special activities to the teens of Paso Robles.
The City Council interviewed the following applicants to fill nine vacancies:
• Kalani Gaviola
• John (Jack) Hamon
• Eunice Luis
• Kaylin Maggard
• Praise Namuleme
• Diego Pesquera
• Kalista Peterson
• Laila Shea
• Anthony Uribe
• Easton Weir
• Alexandria Whitcomb
• Olivia Wright was not able to be present at the meeting but did submit a letter to City Council ahead of the meeting that was read aloud to Council during her interview time.
Four additional applicants, Amy Ayala, Beatriz Dayana Contreras, Elijah Duran, and Israel Perez-Pedraza did not show up for their interviews and were therefore not considered for the available positions.
ROLL CALL VOTE: Motioned by Councilmember Bausch, seconded by Councilmember Gregory and passed 3-0 to appoint Kalani Gaviola, Praise Namuleme, Diego Pequera, Kalista Peterson, Laila Shea, Anthony Uribe, Alexandra Whitcomb, Easton Weir, and Olivia Wright to the Youth Commission.
ADJOURNMENT of the November 23, 2022 Special City Council Meeting at 8:57 PM. Motioned by Councilmember Bausch, seconded by Councilmember Gregory, and passed unanimously by voice vote to adjourn to the December 6, 2022 regular City Council meeting.
