The mee�ng was called to order at 6:30 PM.

Councilmember Bausch, Councilmember Gregory, Councilmember Strong, and Mayor Hamon.

E. DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. District 1 City Council Vacancy and Process to Fill City Council Vacancy Councilmembers interviewed the applicants in the following order: Kris Beal, Michael Seden-Hansen, Sharon Roden, Sarah Hinds-Mar�n, Elizabeth Lee, Linda George, Joseph Manning, and Darryl Shaffer. A�er all candidates were interviewed the floor was opened for public comment.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Dale Gus�n and Michael Rivera.
Council then asked the City Clerk to read a list of names of individuals who had submited leters/emails of support for candidates. Council then disclosed that in addi�on to the names read, there were other leters of support they had received by email. Councilmembers also reported that the following mee�ngs and/or conversa�ons had taken place with candidates ahead of this mee�ng:
• Councilmember Gregory met with Sharon Roden, Elizabeth Lee, and Sarah Hinds-Mar�n

• Councilmember Bausch met with Elizabeth Lee, Linda George, and Sharon Roden.
Council then began their delibera�on and narrowed the candidates to four, Sharon Roden, Sarah Hinds-Mar�n, Elizabeth Lee, and Linda George and asked those candidates to par�cipate in an addi�onal interview session. At the conclusion of the addi�onal interview session, Council reached a consensus and directed staff to return to the October 3, 2023 City Council mee�ng with an item to appoint Sharon Roden to the District 1 Council Seat and to administer the oath of office upon approval of that appointment.

Mo�oned by Councilmember Gregory, seconded by Councilmember Bausch, and passed unanimously by voice vote to adjourn to the October 3, 2023 regular City Council mee�ng.
