I was born and raised in Paso Robles and have no intention of ever leaving! I've always been interested in student government and really enjoy participating in my community. I was honored to be the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Youth Citizenship Award for Honor, Service, Courage, Leadership and Patriotism. I also chose Leadership as my elective during my Sophomore year and found it very fullfilling.

I have attached a letter of recommendation from my core teacher, Mrs. Graham as well as the DAR Award for your review.

I'm interested in this position to serve as an advisory body as it aligns with my passion for youth activism and advocacy to create change with student voices. I believe some of my qualifications could include my outspokenness, which I believe we have a responsibility to speak up and take on higher responsibility within our communities, as well about issues concerning our future. I have been strongly opinionated since my youth and would love to pursue a position in my community that advocates for representation and equal and/or further opportunity. Additionally, I easily take up positions within groups and teams due to my good communication and dedication. Having moved four states and eight school districts within my life, I think that makes for my easy adaptability and communication with a broad variety of people and with peers. Because of all this, I find myself passionate in spaces for youth advocacy and believe this would be a great position to grow my involvement within the community. Thank you for considering my application!

As a student at Paso Robles I always try my best in each class and try to keep my overall grade to an A. Even though sometimes I get B's in a few classes I always try to make room for improvement and see what I can do to get an A in that class. At the moment I am student representative for my 2027 class and I really enjoy trying to come up with new ways to fundraise money for the class and try to think of ways to improve the grade and the people around the school with a positive environment. In the past I have done Big Brother Big Sster and helped out at Aces at Winifred Pifer Elementary. I am trying to become a confident person who helps others by learning to become empathetic towards them which can allow me to build a connection with people with trust and compassion. Another skill I learned from the restaurant I work at is how to communicate with people and work under pressure. During my time at work it allowed me to explore many good skills such as communication, teamwork, and fixing a conflict under pressure.

These are some of the qualities that helped me become the person I am today and still keeps me motivated to try to help people in need by improving our community for a better and brighter future for the people of Paso Robles.

I want to be a part of the Paso Youth Commission because I want to be able to aid my community, family and friends by bringing valuable youth voices into the spotlight. The Commission is a great way for young people to get involved and not just feel like they are making change, but to actually make change. Our modern age feels quite chaotic and uncertain, especially with the rapid advancement of technology and political turmoil. I believe it is important for everyone to speak their mind in a respectful manner so nothing is left out of discussion.

Some of my qualifications for the Paso Youth Commission is being a World Editor at Crimson Newsmagazine. Crimson is a student newsmagazine at Paso Robles High School where collaboration and teamwork is key for hitting deadlines, keeping an enjoyable work environment, and also keeping the flow of the class in check.

I was also a part of the PRJUSD Strategic Planning Committee 2025. This committee was meant to decide the course of the district in the future. The committee was composed of all types of city residents, including me as a student. Seating was organized in such a way that there would be different types of people with different views, so I was able to gain practice and better my understanding of teamwork and collaboration with adults.

Additionally, I’m also a part of the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee at PRHS. This is a small group of students who meet monthly with the Superintendent to discuss pressing issues at the school.

I thought that joining the Youth Committee as an incoming freshman would be a good learning experience and a way to further engage in my community, When I learned about the committee, it seemed like a unique opprotunity to get this type of experience and a great way to work in a group setting. I think that learning about City Counsel as a youth commission member would be awesome.

Please provide a brief statement regarding your interest and /or qualifications for applying to serve on this advisory body.:

I am excited to apply to serve on the Paso Robles Youth Commission. I believe I have many skills that would benefit both the commission and my peers. As a highly collaborative teenager, I would enjoy working with other driven teens to give youth a voice in our community.

I am passionate about my community and have always been interested in government and how local government and local leaders make a difference in citizens' lives. I’ve seen the importance of strong local leaders through my mom, who serves as president of the board for the Southern California Children’s Museum. One meaningful example of her leadership was after the Eaton Fires, when she used social media and community connections to gather donations and supplies for families who had lost their homes. The museum became a gathering place for people to donate and gather supplies, and I volunteered to help organize and distribute them. Experiences like this have shown me the importance of giving back and how individuals can make a big impact in their community. Additionally, my brother has served on the Paso Robles Youth Commission for the past year and have been inspired by the thoughtful conversations that they had to help the community. I would be honored to serve in that same way.

Serving on the Paso Robles Youth Commission would allow me to represent my peers, give back to my community, and allow me to grow as a person and leader. I believe my curiosity, consistency, and dedication to helping others would benefit the commission and my community. Thank you for your consideration.
