Update
Prepared for:

February 3, 2026

Paso Robles:
• 630,000 annual visitors for
Arts and Culture
• $70 million in Arts and
Culture-related spending
• $115 million in total economic
impact
• 65 licensed Family Child Care (FCC) home businesses in the City with 730 total slots (capacity)
• 16 licensed Child Care Centers that are owned and operated in public or private buildings, schools, and churches.
 YMCA Afterschool Child Care: 360 in 2025; adding 30 more in 2026 Overall, 31% of Centers and 49% of FCC report having vacancies. "There is a disconnect between childcare programs reporting vacancies and families, business leaders, and strategic partners across sectors identifying gaps in childcare supply."
“Recommendation: Childcare business marketing efforts to help childcare businesses to better reach families.”

“The current space does not adequately
accommodate permitting counter review for
complex plans or meeting space for
negotiations with investors, developers, and
builders. The look and feel of professional
local government office space directly shapes
the opinions of decision makers about the
prospect of investing in a city.”
