Subject: Interest in Appointment – Senior Citizen Advisory Commission Dear Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council:

I am writing to express my interest in serving on the Paso Robles Senior Citizen Advisory Commission. Unfortunately I am committed to a previous engagement and am unable to attend the schedule interview and ask that you consider my application to serve on the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee
After more than 40 years in the fire service, including serving as a Fire Chief, I have had the privilege of working in and around communities where relationships, trust, and service truly matter. Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand how important it is to ensure that all members of the community—especially seniors—feel supported, connected, and safe.

As I transition from my full-time career, I am looking for meaningful ways to stay engaged and continue contributing locally. Paso Robles is a community I care about, and I believe this role offers an opportunity to give back by helping ensure that the needs and perspectives of our senior population are heard and thoughtfully considered.

I understand the Commission’s advisory role to the City Council and would approach it with a commitment to listening, collaboration, and practical problem-solving. I would bring a perspective grounded in public safety, service delivery, and community engagement, and I would work to support balanced, forward-looking recommendations that reflect both community needs and City priorities.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I would be honored to serve and contribute to the continued strength and well-being of the Paso Robles community.

Respectfully submitted,
Kurt Latipow
