2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON 4 AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION(S) FOR ALL CALRECYCLE 5 GRANTS FOR WHICH THE CITY OF PATTERSON IS ELIGIBLE
6 7 WHEREAS, Public Resources Code sections 48000 et seq. authorize the 8 Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to administer various 9 grant programs (grants) in furtherance of the State of California’s (state) efforts to reduce, 10 recycle and reuse solid waste generated in the state thereby preserving landfill capacity 11 and protecting public health and safety and the environment; and 12 13 WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority CalRecycle is required to establish 14 procedures governing the application, awarding, and management of the grants; and 15 16 WHEREAS, CalRecycle grant application procedures require, among other things, 17 an applicant’s governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the 18 administration of CalRecycle grants.
19 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of 21 Patterson authorizes the submittal of application(s) to CalRecycle for Beverage Container 22 Recycling Grant Program; and
23 24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or his/her designee is hereby 25 authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Patterson all grant 26 documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments and 27 requests for payment, necessary to secure grant funds and implement the approved grant 28 project; and
29 30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these authorizations are effective for five (5) 31 years from the date of adoption of this resolution.
32 33 The foregoing resolution of the City Council of the City of Patterson was passed by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 18 th 34 day of January
