2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON 4 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE 5 SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT PUBLIC BENEFIT 6 GRANTS PROGRAM
7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Patterson staff identified a grant from the San Joaquin Valley 9 Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) to support the purchase of a new alternative fuel 10 vehicles under a grant program eligible to public agencies throughout the San Joaquin Valley; 11 and
12 13 WHEREAS, the program is available to public agencies such as cities, counties, special 14 districts, and public education institutions located within the geographical boundaries of the San 15 Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District; and
16 17 WHEREAS, the District is an eligible public agency under the program, and seeks to 18 reduce the amount of air pollutants by the operation of its facilities, particularly carbon 19 monoxide and other harmful emissions from gas powered vehicles used by City employees in 20 performance of their duties; and
21 22 WHEREAS, as part of the grant requirements, reimbursement will take place after the 23 new vehicle is purchased and all of the required documents, as specified in the Public Benefit 24 Grants Program Payment Procedures, are submitted to the SJVAPCD; and 25 26 WHEREAS, a maximum of $20,000 in grant funds is available per vehicle on a first 27 come, first serve basis.
28 29 WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PATTERSON HEREBY 30 RESOLVES as follows:
31 32 1. The above recitals are true and correct.
33 2. The City Manager of the City of Patterson, is authorized to submit a Public 34 Benefit Grants Program New Alternative Fuel Vehicle Purchase Application and 35 any other documents related to or supporting the application to the San Joaquin 36 3. The City commits to having adequate funds available to complete the purchase of 37 an alternative fuel vehicle in a timely fashion as required by the SJVAPCD. 38 4. The City commits to participate in the program as required by SJVAPCD. 39 40 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Patterson 41 does hereby authorize the City Manager or his representative to sign the grant application, 42 documents, and statements in regard to the Public Benefit Grant Program. 43 44 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of 45 Patterson this 15th day of March 2022, by the following roll call votes:
